Remembered for being the great villain of the late 80s, the Thomas-Dumars-Laimbeer trio returned to Detroit after taking a dosage of "Age Away." Adding to the squad Josh Smith (later traded to New York for Amar'e Stoudemire), the new Bad Boys were ready to retake the leadership of the league.
The team already played 9 games and, even though it wasn't the start they've hoped for, they are the only ones who could beat the unstoppable force: their last game was an 88-84 win over The Brotherhood.
Although right now they stand on a 4-5 record, the team enjoys good chemistry between players and everyone is doing their parts: 5 players are averaging double-digits points, and two of them are shooting above 50%
Isiah Thomas is their leading scorer with 14.4 PPG, followed by Dumars (11.2), Stoudemire (10.8), Laimbeer (10.6) and Corey Maggette (10.5). Both Thomas and Stoudemire are shooting 49% and 53% off the field respectively.
Also, the team has in Bill Laimbeer a player who is right now in the Top 15 of players averaging the most rebounds, as he right now averages 8.7 rebounds per game, and 1.4 offensive rebounds per game.
However, not everything is perfect in Detroit: three players are yet to make their first appearance in a game, as Rodrigue Beaubois, Jeff Adrien and rookie Andre Drummond are yet to play a single minute. Also Nate Robinson is said to have requested a trade, as he only averages 6 minutes per game with the team.
